New Saros Cycle

This solar eclipse is quite unusual as it is the very first eclipse of a family of 72 eclipses that will take 1200 years to complete.  Every 18 years, an eclipse associated with this “mother” eclipse will occur. The series, know as a Saros Cycle, will end in 3237. This new series is number 156 according to the van den Bergh naming system (astronomy) and 13 New South according to the Jansky naming system (astrology). Birthing of a new Saros cycle is certainly symbolic of a huge new beginning.

Evolutionary Grand Square

During this eclipse a special geometric configuration called a Grand Square will occur.  This simply means that three other planets will lend their dynamic energies to the sun and moon forming a square in the sky.   The helping planets are: Uranus, shaking us out of the old rut into a new beginning, Saturn, giving us the discipline to more forward into a new paradigm and Pluto, helping us to evaporate our fears and own our power.  The primal energies of this eclipse support huge endeavors and extraordinary achievement or change.  The theme of this powerful solar eclipse is a complete transformation in some area of our life.

Altar

This will be the concluding ceremony of the three and will anchor in the energies in a powerful way. Here are suggestions for how to set up your altar and conduct your ceremony.

You will want your altar to feel strong, powerful and grounded to the earth.  Use greens, browns and black. You may also want to place fresh flowers, fruit or veggies on your altar to bring in Earth energy.  Place your sacred objects on the altar and add a symbol of Mother Earth or the Divine Mother. This will align you with the strong Cancer nurturing energies present in this eclipse.

Recreate the square in the sky on your altar with four candles or four stones. Here are suggested colors for the four points, however use your intuition to decide:  Aries/Uranus – red for fire, Cancer/ Sun & Moon – black for water, Libra/Saturn – white for air and Capricorn/Pluto – green for earth.

Ceremony

Go into your meditative or prayerful state, call on your spiritual helpers as you did the last two times.  Review the intention you set with the first eclipse and the script you wrote at the second eclipse.  Now move around each point of the square.

1.    Uranus/Red – Start with the red candle or stone and connect with the changes you are willing to make to live your new intention. Write these down.

2.    Moon & Sun/Black – Go to the black candle or stone and see yourself nurturing with gentleness and kindness your intention and yourself. Symbolically place yourself and your intention in a safe, warm, cozy womb. Write down how you will nurture yourself to grow into your new intention.

3.    Saturn/White – Move to the white candle or stone and notice what new thoughts and beliefs you need to embrace to support your change. Write these down.

4.    Pluto/Green – Finish at the green candle or stone. Feel powerful energy from the Earth Mother flow up your legs. See yourself taking the action you need to take to transform your life and live in the new intended paradigm you have chosen. Write these down.

5.    Commitment – Now sign and date the commitments that you wrote today. Place them on your altar blessing them with a feeling of gratitude for the soul growth you are experiencing. Be thankful for these amazing times of the consciousness shift as we create a New Earth.

End your ceremony by thanking your spiritual helpers and releasing them.  Send a blanket of love out to our precious Earth Mother and feel a deep connection with all beings on our planet knowing we are all One!
