On July 1 at 4:54 am EDT, the third of a trio of eclipses will occur. This potent solar eclipse happens in the zodiac sign of Cancer and is the most powerful of the three. It embodies uniqueness, newness, and urgency for evolutionary change. Surely you have been feeling the intense energies this month and hopefully have been doing the ceremonies I suggested to reap the benefits of these energies. New Saros Cycle
This solar eclipse is quite unusual as it is the very first eclipse of a family of 72 eclipses that will take 1200 years to complete. Every 18 years, an eclipse associated with this “mother” eclipse will occur. The series, know as a Saros Cycle, will end in 3237. This new series is number 156 according to the van den Bergh naming system (astronomy) and 13 New South according to the Jansky naming system (astrology). Birthing of a new Saros cycle is certainly symbolic of a huge new beginning.
Evolutionary Grand Square
During this eclipse a special geometric configuration called a Grand Square will occur. This simply means that three other planets will lend their dynamic energies to the sun and moon forming a square in the sky. The helping planets are: Uranus, shaking us out of the old rut into a new beginning, Saturn, giving us the discipline to more forward into a new paradigm and Pluto, helping us to evaporate our fears and own our power. The primal energies of this eclipse support huge endeavors and extraordinary achievement or change. The theme of this powerful solar eclipse is a complete transformation in some area of our life.

 flickr: bomobob We have a power packed eclipse series happening this month. It is an opportunity to step into higher consciousness and to create a New Earth. Normally we would have just two eclipses at a time but this summer there are three. The normal pattern is one solar eclipse and one lunar eclipse that occur 2 weeks apart. The extra solar eclipse creates a four week period of powerful energies for making significant life changes. All of this is coupled with the last wave of the Mayan Calendar, which causes us to feel as if time is speeding. The summer solstice on June 21 occurs also in this month adding to the intense energies.
A Solar eclipse happens when the moon lines up with the sun in the sky. As the moon comes between the sun and the Earth it disrupts the flow of energies streaming from the sun. Light encodes information and this disruption creates a reboot or reorganization in our consciousness. Often with Solar Eclipses, we experience new beginnings.

And is this surprising or even a little unsettling when you just “know” things about people, maybe even things you’d prefer not to know? And have you had premonitions or dreams that have come true? This may feel a little uncomfortable and you may be wondering what happened to the old you that you could count on to know how life would look each day. This is all part of the natural evolution that is happening as you evolve into a new kind of human.
As we move toward 2012, and especially this summer, our vibrations rise and we embody more traits of the new human, homo luminous. One of these traits is our natural intuitive and psychic abilities. We begin to realize what awesome beings we are – that we have our own answers right inside in the form of wisdom and inner knowing. As the New Earth births, we will become more and more dependent on ourselves for the answers – NO MORE GURUS!!

 Body Painted Cyclist The Earth is an alive sentient being with cycles of aliveness expressed as the solstices and the equinoxes. On the New Earth, we will be very much aware of these and will celebrate them through ceremonies of joy, creativity and connectedness. Yesterday I had just such an experience. It was so much fun and such a good way to honor the earth and be joyful that I am using this post to share some photos and themes I noticed in the celebration.
Freedom To Be Peculiar!
The event was the Summer Solstice Fair in Seattle’s Fremont district. This annual event has the motto, “De Libertas Quirkas” – Freedom to be Peculiar! which it definitely lived up to. A high point of the whole Fair is the Fremont Solstice Parade which is both peculiar and eclectic. This earth friendly parade was non commercial – no logos allowed - and had no motorized vehicles – all floats are powered by humans pushing and pulling them.
Their brochure says the parade celebrates the longest day of the year through profound street theater, public spectacle and a kaleidoscope of joyous human expressions. Sure sounds like the New Earth to me. Here are the highlights:
 Flower Lady The parade starts with the peculiar which I think qualifies as a public spectacle. A large group of men and women ride through the streets on bicycles dressed only in body paint. And wow! what an expression of artistry and creativity. There is everything from flower covered bodies to zebra body art and glittery angels and fairies.

Throughout the parade there is a celebrating of nature and the Earth. The flower lady is an example. There were green men, a tree marching band, and numerous displays of flowers. Then there was a group focused on recycling awareness. They were dressed in costumes of plastic bags and featured a float of Styrofoam to be recycled. There was a small float with a Native American elder surrounded by plants which symbolized to me Chief Seattle’s saying, “The Earth does not belong to us. We belong to the Earth. The Earth is our Mother.”

A huge yellow submarine rolled up the street accompanied by the happy go lucky Beatle’s song, We all Live in a Yellow Submarine. To me this represents living in joy and being a kid. And if you were quick, you could have your picture taken in a rolling wood cut out of the Beatles. On the spot, be John, Ringo, George or Paul!
The Flying Spaghetti Monster
If you wanted to have community and connection with other solstice celebrants, you could lay in the street while a huge 20 foot beach ball rolled over you. Then there were representations of diverse religious views – angels, pagan’s and the flying spaghetti monster. Diversity was reflected every place in the parade – a clear acceptance of all views and all people. This is how we will think on the New Earth.

And finally there was love and peace for all. A group who gave free hugs, mingled with the crowd giving hugs to anyone who wanted one. One man had a tree branches on his body – he was a ’ tree hugger’ – double duty there. You could get a hug and hug a tree at the same time. Yes, a true expression of the New Earth – where we are all one and know it. Then there were three peace flags furled in the wind – a statement of what we want for all beings on the planet.

The actual solstice happens on Monday, so even though you may not have something as unique as this to do, I encourage you to celebrate the solstice in your own way.

 Flickr: from Thai Jasmine As we move toward next week now is a good time to begin to prepare for the special energies headed our way on Monday, June 21, when the summer solstice occurs. This is one of Gaia’s seasonal cycles and honoring the cycles of the Earth is one way to acknowledge her aliveness and becoming more in sync with her. More than any other time in history we are being called by Gaia’s spirit to acknowledge her aliveness.
Summer Solstice
As the Earth moves through her seasonal cycles, she expresses a certain energy that relates to that part of the cycle. In New Earth: Calendars & Seasonal Cycles, I compare the four seasonal starting points to the cycles of a plant’s growth. The summer solstice represents the peaking of the cycle which the plants express as bursting forth with flowers. Ralph Waldo Emerson said it best – the Earth laughs in flowers.

 Flickr: from Lily With so much intensity now unfolding in our lives we are looking for answers, tools and solutions. Here are sentiments expressed by one of my clients, “Oh what to do! Been going round and round. Not used to this. I pray this will pass. Just not sure what to do.” This pretty much sums up how many of us are feeling right now. This is an intense merry-go-round we are on and we’d like to get off or at least slow it down.
Well, we are stepping pretty spritely now in to the New Consciousness and what we are feeling is simply its higher vibration. Our bodies, our minds, our daily lives are simply not used to functioning in energy this high. So we are going round and round not knowing quite what to do and feeling overwhelmed. The most obvious thing to do is to begin raising our vibration to match the energy we are now living in. It’s All About Energy!!! That is exactly what a consciousness shift is – a raising of energies.

 Flickr: from Optick Are you feeling the birthing pains of the new Consciousness? Is your life or the life of your friends changing dramatically, falling apart, in crisis or chaos?? If so, those are birthing pains of the new consciousness. What is happening here? Well, there are a lot of intense energies flooding the Earth with higher vibrational energies of the new consciousness. So anything in your life that does not match that high level of vibration is being transformed or cleansed so that you can live happily in the new energy.
Now this probably doesn’t feel good and you are wondering how any good could come from it. You’ll need to shift how you view it to understand how you really are headed toward a more harmonious and peaceful life. Let’s say your health or your marriage or maybe your job is falling apart. Look and notice what is not working about it and how, in fact, it probably has not been working for a while…maybe even years. The “not working” part is the lower vibration I am referring to. Now if it did not fall apart, you’d just keep on keeping on and not make any change. But that lower energy cannot exist in the higher energy of the new consciousness so your higher self is trying to detox that from your body, mind and spirit so that a new you can embrace the new consciousness and all of the peace, abundance and happiness it brings.

Also I want to urge you to go to this 24 hour healing broadcast that I wrote about yesterday. Howard Martin from HeartMath explains how we impact the earth with our energy, and how at HeartMath they can acutally measure the impact of love sent to the Earth. There are other healers offering meditation and explanations of how our imbalances are reflected in the earth and how as we become peaceful inside, our world outside will reflect that. This is a great Earth Day Exercise to help birth the New Earth.

With tomorrow being Earth Day, this is a perfect time to reassess your connection to the Earth and find out what you can do to help. I have an article titled Birthing a New Earth: You Too Are a Midwife, in this month’s edition of Seattle’s New Spirit Journal.
There is information about how and why a New Earth is birthing plus how it is connected to 2012.There are suggestions for what you can do to facilitate the birth of a New Earth. The first one is to “Be a lighthouse emitting gratitude and appreciation”. These emotions vibrate at 0.10 hertz, which is the quality of energy that heals the earth. To read more, go the New Spirit Journal and scroll to page 10.
I encourage you to take time tomorrow to send loving energy to the earth through this special 24 hour healing broadcast that is directed at healing the earth, sun, oceans, animals, humans and water. Contributing your loving energy could help create a critical mass in the zero point field for a powerful healing for the Earth and our solar system.
